All dogs over the age of three (3) months old are required by State legislation to be registered, including all farm dogs. Applications to register your dogs can be obtained from either the Tambellup or Broomehill offices.

Pensioners receive a 50% rebate on the registration fees on production of their concession card.
To register a sterilised dog, a certificate of sterilisation from a vet must be produced.
All dog registrations are due on 31st October each year.

The limit of the number of dogs which may be kept on any premises is as follows:

(a)   Premises within a townsite - 2 dogs over the age of three months and the young of those dogs under that age;
(b)   Premises outside a townsite - 4 dogs over the age of three months and the young of those dogs under that age.

Council has engaged the services of a Ranger who will visit the Shire on a regular basis. Should you require any further information on your responsibilities as a dog owner, dog registration or local dog laws, please contact the Shire office.
