NOTICE OF LOCAL PLANNING POLICY NO 1 – SEA CONTAINERS

The Shire drafted a Local Planning Policy setting out Council’s position on applications for sea containers.  The Draft Policy was put out for inspection and public comment on 2 May 2022 and submissions closed on 29 May 2022.

At the Ordinary Meeting of Council on 28 July 2022 the following motion was carried:

That Council:

  1. Resolve to adopt Local Planning Policy No 1 on Sea Containers (Attachment 1) for final approval (without modifications) pursuant to Schedule 2, Part 2, Division 2, Clause 4 of the Deemed Provisions of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015.
  2. Note that the Draft Policy was advertised for public comment and no public submissions were received.
  3. Note the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage has confirmed that the Draft Policy is consistent with the WA Planning Commission Fact Sheet on Outbuildings.
  4. Authorise the Shire Chief Executive Officer to:

                (a)           Publish a Notice on the Shire website on the decision to adopt the Policy; and

                (b)          Publish the Local Planning Policy on the Shire website.
