ACT BELONG COMMIT
The Shire of Broomehill-Tambellup is proud to partner with Act Belong Commit, Australia’s longest-running mental health promotion campaign. Together, we encourage our community to take proactive steps to improve and safeguard mental wellbeing.
Good mental health is more than the absence of illness. It’s about thriving, being able to cope with life’s challenges, maintain relationships, contribute to your community, and find joy and satisfaction in everyday life.
Three Simple Principles for a Mentally Healthy Life
Act – Do Something
Keep active mentally, physically, socially, spiritually, and culturally.
Examples: Go for a walk, read a book, meditate, pray, or learn a new skill.
Belong – Do Something with Someone
Stay connected to friends, family, and your community.
Examples: Join a book club, play a sport, take a cooking class, or attend local events.
Commit – Do Something Meaningful
Engage in activities that give purpose and value to your life.
Examples: Volunteer, take on a challenge, support a cause, or help a neighbour.
