Celebrate the colour, character, and natural beauty of the Broomehill–Tambellup region during the Bloom Festival by sharing your unique perspective through photography.

Whether you're an experienced photographer or simply enjoy taking photos on your phone, we invite residents and visitors alike to enter this free community competition and show us what makes our region special.

Your age category is your age at the closing date.

• Landscapes and scenic views
• Farms, gardens and rural life
• Wildflowers and seasonal blooms
• Town streets, community spaces and local landmarks
• Candid, everyday moments that reflect our community

Entry Guidelines

• Open to all residents of, and visitors to, the Broomehill–Tambellup region.
• Photographs must be taken within the Shire district.
• Images may be captured using a smartphone, digital camera, or tablet.
• Entries must be submitted as high-resolution JPEG files suitable for  A3 printing.
• Basic editing is permitted: cropping, straightening, exposure contrast, colour correction and sharpening.
• Adding or removing objects, combining photographs, or using artificial intelligence to generate or substantially alter an image is not permitted.
• All images must be the original work of the entrant.
• Where a person is recognisable in your photograph, they must agree to it being entered and published. For a child, a parent or guardian must agree.

People's Choice voting

A moderated gallery of eligible entries will be published online for the community to view. Between 2 and 9 October 2026 you can vote for your favourite through a single online form. One vote per person.

Judging

The Under 18 and Adult categories are decided by a panel that includes an independent judge, using a set scoring criteria: relevance to the theme, creativity and originality, visual impact, and technical quality and composition.

Awards and recognition

One winner will be awarded in each of the Under 18 and Adult categories, plus a People's Choice Award open to all entries. Winning photographers will be featured on the Shire website and social media, and their photograph will be displayed at the Shire office for a period before being presented to them to keep.

Important dates

• Entries open: Tuesday 1 September 2026
• Entries close: 5.00 pm AWST, Wednesday 30 September 2026
• People's Choice voting: Friday 2 October to Friday 9 October 2026
• Winners announced: Sunday 11 October 2026, at the close of the Bloom Festival
