New CEO Appointed at Shire Of Broomehill-Tambellup

Shire President Cr Michael White has announced the appointment of Ms Karen Callaghan as the new CEO for the Shire of Broomehill-Tambellup.

At the Ordinary Meeting of Council held on 15 December 2023, the Council received and endorsed the recommendations of the CEO Recruitment Panel to appoint Ms Callaghan.

Cr White said that following a thorough recruitment process, Councillors were unanimous in their support of the appointment of Ms Callaghan.  

‘While Karen’s appointment was a unanimous decision, we were presented with a strong field of candidates, making the selection process challenging’ Cr White noted.

‘Karen comes to Broomehill-Tambellup with extensive experience in strategy, governance and management in the State public sector, most recently working with the Department of Health in a senior executive role.  We are confident in Karen’s ability to translate this experience across to the local government environment’, Cr White said.

‘On behalf of the Council, Shire staff and the community, we extend a warm welcome to Karen, and look forward to introducing her to our community.  We also thank our outgoing CEO Anthony Middleton for his efforts over the past 18 months and wish him well in his new role’.

Ms Callaghan commences with the Shire of Broomehill-Tambellup on 5 February 2024.
