Whether you live in the townsites, the rural areas surrounding the townsites, or on farmland,  the impact of bushfires is in your hands. How you prepare yourself, your family and your property (including your home) rests with you, and will, in many instances, determine the outcome.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has produced a booklet that may help you to be better informed about how to plan and protect yourself and your property from the impact of bushfire.  The information and advice presented in the booklet has been drawn from the experiences and lessons learned through previous experience, loss of property and even loss of life. to download the booklet please click here.

The Shire of Broomehill-Tambellup Fire Break Order sets out requirements for compliance with the Bush Fires Act 1954, in terms of hazard reduction prior to and during the bushfire season.  Download a copy here, or alternatively, pick up a copy from either the Broomehill or Tambellup Shire office.

For more information on how to prepare your property for the bushfire season, please contact the Shire's Community Emergency Services Manager, Cindy Pearce, on 0417 071567.
